The Institute for Ethical Ontology

Mission

The Institute exists to develop, publish, and steward research in Ethical Ontology and a-metaphysical ontology. It maintains the programme's texts, its deposits, and the canonical formulations of its doctrine.

Status

The Institute for Ethical Ontology is being established in Larnaca, Cyprus. Legal formation is expected in 2027.

Working with the Institute

There are no posts to offer yet, and this is not a recruitment call. Two kinds of work are open nonetheless, and one of them costs nothing but attention.

Philosophers

The programme is built to be attacked, and says so in print: its novelty claims are deposited with their defeaters, its falsifiers are published, and its losses are recorded in the books rather than quietly absorbed. Objections here are not correspondence. Under the governance protocol, reviews of drafts and of governance instruments receive stable identifiers and travel inside the sealed deposits, with disagreements printed rather than resolved away, so a serious objection enters the permanent record of the work it was aimed at, under its author’s name.

Ethical Ontology, Volume III opens on the gigantomachia peri tēs ousias and runs through Parmenides, the Megarians, Aristotle, Avicenna, Averroes, Aquinas, Leibniz, Heidegger and Schürmann. Anyone who reads in those rooms and wants to argue is useful to it immediately.

Specialists

The research publishes gap lists: editions not held, loci unverified at first hand, translations carried at second hand. Each is a bounded project with named deliverables and printed loss conditions, which is to say the commission states in advance what would show its own result wrong. Greek philology is the first standing need; the lists also reach classical epigraphy, Arabic and Latin scholastic sources, and nineteenth-century Italian. Commissioned work waits on formation. The conversation does not.
